- The Arts Council of Fairfax County produces the 40th annual International Children’s Festival at Wolf Trap on Sept 18 & 19, 2010; from 10am to 4pm. The Festival is an affordable, family-friendly event involving interactive performances and arts activities for children and adults of all ages.
- Over 700 Volunteers contribute over 3,500 volunteer hours to help patrons enjoy performances and art activities at the Festival.
- The first Festival was held during Wolf Trap’s first season in 1971, and has been held every year since.

- Over 2,000 international children from over 40 countries have participated in the 40 years of Festivals.
- This is the first time a group from Poland has participated in the Festival.
- From 1994 to 2009, the International Children's Festival was the official fine arts field trip for all 5th grade students in the Fairfax County Public Schools. Approximately 160,000 5th graders participated in the field trip over the past 16 years.
- Thousands of area families come to the Festival each year.
- Each year, free Festival tickets, gifts, and snacks are provided to over 1,500 Washington DC area children and their families who would otherwise be unable to enjoy a magical day filled with the arts at Wolf Trap through the Special Guests Program.
