Festival Preview at Fairfax Corner *Free Event*
Nine local performing groups representing diverse cultures from around the region will give a preview of the exciting performances that you will see at the 40th Annual International Childrens’s Festival.
2010 International Performing Groups: Mexico, and Poland.
Coming to the Festival from our southern neighbor Mexico are young dancers from the Folklore Ballet American School in the city of Puebla. From the city of Lublin, Poland comes the young Folk Song and Dance Ensemble LUBLIN.
This year we have over 38 Local Groups participating, representing cultures from around the world. Come explore the rich diversity of Northern Virginia and Washington DC.
The arts in the park feature hands-on educational art activities and fun for children and adults of all ages. In the park area, you will turn from a spectator to a participant. In addition to four stages - Global Stage, Meadow Pavilion, ArtsFairfax Pavilion, and Theatre-in-the-Woods - visitors can meet & greet with the international and local performers, buy the official 2010 Festival T-shirt, experience buskers up close, sample foods from the Food Court tent, visit the Arts Council of Fairfax County Resource Tent, and talk to artists and crafters at our many activity tents.
